I believe Techniplate is basically the same oil as Castor 927. It was my understanding that R50 provides nearly the same level of protction as the castor blend but with the benefit of cleaner burning. There's no question about the protection the castor blends give you. The drawbacks are that it doesn't burn as clean and can seperate below 32F.
